Jennifer Schiller, baroque, classical, and modern violinist, has performed with orchestras and in festivals throughout the US and Europe, including the Spoleto Festival (Italy), the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the BBC Proms, and the Shanghai Baroque Festival.
Ms. Schiller was for many years an active freelance musician in the Boston area, performing regularly with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Opera Boston, Handel and Haydn Society Orchestra, Boston Baroque, Boston Classical Orchestra; the Vermont, Rhode Island, and Portland (Maine) Symphonies; and was a member of the Sarasota Orchestra (Florida). While in Boston she also founded and performed for several years with the New Piano Quartet, the quartet-in-residence at the New School of Music, and performed regularly with the period instrument ensemble La Donne Musicale.
Ms. Schiller holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Indiana University, and the Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Kentucky. Residing in Paris, France since 2009, she pursues an active freelance career as a teacher and performer on both modern and period instruments. She performs regularly with Les Siècles, Opera Fuoco, Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, Le Concert de la Loge, and Orchestre Prométhée. Jennifer performs on an 18th c Mittenwald-school baroque violin, a classically-mounted violin from 1807 by Jean Clément, and a modern-mounted violin from 1767 by Nicolo Gagliano.
